Total Solar Eclipse 2024
Join OLLI on APRIL 8th, 2024 at Veterans Park on Southpoint Drive in Lexington to view the eclipse with us.
Meet at 2:30 pm. The event should occur at 3:08pm for our location. Free! No registration required.
Directions to Veterans Park
Veterans Park is located off Southpoint drive. There is a large green, military tank you cannot miss as well as the Southeastern Ball fields. Turn into either of two entrances and to back of ball fields. Do not go up the hill. There is a World War II memorial that an OLLI member will be standing beside. There’s a huge field behind the memorial which is where we will view.
How to See the Eclipse:
Don’t forget your solar eclipse glasses (and never stare directly at the sun)! They can be purchased at most stores and online, or you can make your own pinhole camera to view the eclipse happening:
