Many people are hoping to learn more about their family history. Have you wondered where you came from? Where was your family in the 1800’s? Genealogy is more fun when others with a shared interest meet to aid each other with such questions as: Where do I start? Where do I look for information? How do I document my findings? What type of family history software is out there? And many other questions and topics that can be discussed to learn where you came from. Occasionally, we attend classes put on by others or visit libraries or other genealogy-related facilities.
Geology Rockhounds!

This SIG is for those who are fascinated by rocks, fossils and minerals and are interested in going “rockhounding” on the occasional field trip! Members of this SIG will attend 1-2 seminars on selected geological topics followed by a field trip to geological sites illustrating seminar content. Please Note: Field trips will require members to walk on rough ground and for short distances.

The Next Chapter Book Club

The members of the SIG suggest books for the group to read and discuss. The facilitator will lead the discussion unless a member of the group volunteers to lead the discussion of a specific book.
The Wonderful World of Stamp Collecting

Have you ever collected stamps or perhaps have a collection you inherited years ago? Perhaps you think it is a dead hobby. 4 to 5 million people in the US and more than 60 million people worldwide don’t think so. There are many interesting and exciting avenues to this pastime which can also add to your ongoing education. In a series of presentations and discussions members of the Henry Clay Philatelic Society will introduce you to the basics and the many possibilities of the hobby.
Writer’s Group 2.0
